Oladeji Daniel "Deji" Olatunji (born: December 9, 1996), formerly known online as ComedyShortsGamer (abbreviated as CSG), is an English vlogger best known for his comedic content, reactions, and skits. He is also the younger brother of KSI
Personal life[]
Deji was born and raised in Watford, London. He was often joked to have been born in Nigeria which he laughed at. He now resides in Peterborough, England, with his parents and his girlfriend, Dounja.
Deji created his first YouTube channel on 27 August 2011, named TheAngelzKid. He has recently changed the channel's name to 'Deji 2nd' and uploads gaming and some random content on there.
His main YouTube channel Deji (also known as ComedyShortsGamer in the past) was created on 1 December 2011, where he started out posting gaming videos to YouTube, including FIFA.
YouTube Career[]
Deji uploads a variety of games to his channel, but like his brother, his fame rose due to his FIFA videos. He also does lots of real-life videos with his parents and his girlfriend Dounja.
Deji now does random content, ranging from reactions, sketches, occasional challenges and pranks and music videos. He primarily makes videos with his girlfriend Dounja now, though his older videos used to consist of random 'girlfriends' he would have, such as Marina Joyce or Claira Hermet.
He used to often feature or be featured with JJ in videos, such as challenges or scary games. This had slowed down drastically once JJ moved in with the Sidemen in 2014.
He would also often make videos about his cars, such as the Audi TT, which he crashed, his Range Rover Autobiography, as well as his Lamborghini Huracan and his latest Lamborghini Aventador S, the former having been sold after being vandalised.
His second channel, Deji 2nd, mainly consists of gaming videos, as well as some random content with his girlfriend. He also streams on Twitch and YouNow.
He has also featured on Miniminter's channel, such as the 'Nugget Challenge' and 'REACTING TO OLD VIDEOS WITH DEJI', as well as on Callux's channel, for his famed Insults Match.
Controversy[]
Sidemen[]
After KSI "left" the Sidemen in 2017, Deji uploaded a random "diss track". Miniminter had a little "beef" with Deji over Twitter, causing him to get more involved with the Sidemen. Deji's diss track targeted all 6 remaining members of the Sidemen but he mainly targeted Simon (with details more about his personal life, ex-lovers and his past). As of October 2020, their drama seems to be over as in Simon's video "KSI REACTS TO MY REDDIT", Simon stated that he messaged Deji after raiding him on twitch and thinks of him as his little brother.
Jake Paul[]
In 2018, after JJ called out the Paul brothers after his fight with Joe Weller, Deji wanted to fight Jake Paul, with JJ then deciding to fight Logan as a result. Jake agreed and they were set to fight on 25 August 2018. There were two press conferences, in which both Jake and Deji insulted and goaded each other. A few days before the fight, Deji showed up at one of Jake and Logan Paul's meet and greets, Jake responded by slapping Deji in the face.
Jake won the boxing match, but Deji was well praised as he had fought well and made his fans proud after giving him a bloody nose. When Deji was in LA to make an appearance on Logan Paul's podcast "Impaulsive", Jake said he would accept Deji's request for a sparring rematch at his place, but Deji didn't go because he was advised not to.
Randolph[]
In the Sidemen Sunday video "SIDEMEN FAMILY FORTUNES", Randolph was asked the question which YouTube channel he thought was dead - he answered saying Deji. Deji responded by making a video roasting Randolph for being a 'slave' of KSI and doing everything for him, as well as insulting Randolph's wife. After this, Randolph made a video saying that it was just a simple joke and he released a diss track "Manchild" aimed at Deji. Deji then responded with his own diss track "RAN". However in the video of the diss track, while rapping about how JJ paid for Randolph's wedding, Deji leaked JJ's private bank details for which JJ criticized him for, which further led to the KSI and Deji drama.
Randolph then released a second diss track, titled "Victory Speech". Deji's reaction to the track caused him to get in more drama with JJ, so it's likely that his involvement with Randolph has settled down. Randolph made a video later to explain that the drama got out of hand and that he wasn't going to acknowledge Deji's begs for attention any longer.
Deji and KSI[]
The beef between Deji and Randolph spilled over between Deji and KSI when JJ reacted to both Randolph and Deji's diss tracks and affirmed the truth of Randolph's disses whilst calling out Deji, as well as their parents, for exposing his private bank account in Deji's diss track.
Deji then responded with a video saying that JJ had taken Randolph's side and that it was an unfair beef with 6 against 1. Deji then went on to say that he never got a girl pregnant (something Randolph mentioned in his second diss track) but then commented that JJ had, fuelling the drama between them.
This escalated further when Deji tweeted out that JJ had blocked him on social media and JJ responded by tweeting "get rid of negative delusional people, even if they are family" although this was deleted shortly after.
Deji then released a video calling out JJ for preferring his friends over his family and describing his brother as having a god complex. JJ immediately tweeted that he loved his brother and made a video apologizing for certain things. However, Deji then uploaded a diss track titled "Unforgivable" with Jallow, Dax, and Crypt. Some of the disses were calling out the fact that JJ had gotten a girl pregnant and had abortions, though the diss track was made before JJ's video apologizing to certain things was released and Deji uploaded the diss track to keep things fair for the people featured in it. The apologetic tweets and video by JJ were deleted shortly after.
Deji went on the Logan Paul podcast "Impaulsive" to explain the situation and called JJ manipulative and his friends (The Sidemen) fake, only having JJ's back on the surface but not genuinely.
On Christmas 2018, JJ went to his family home, but there were disagreements in their conversation, which resulted in a fight between him and Deji. JJ claimed on Twitter that Deji had kicked him out while their parents just stood there and watched, and Deji threatening to call the cops if he didn't leave. Deji tweeted that JJ threatened to smash his computer to make him delete the diss track. Deji also stated that JJ attacked their mom and insulted both of their parents. Deji later that day made another video titled "My bro" calling him a bully, manipulative, and accusing him of attacking and making their parents cry. The video was later deleted, and it is speculated that it was due to subscriber loss.
As a result, Deji lost thousands of subscribers from the drama with his brother, due to him uploading more videos talking about the situation. On 6 January 2019, Deji uploaded an apology video to JJ for his actions, and he deleted the "Unforgivable" diss track, thus "ending" the drama.
However, on 2 May 2019, the drama between the two was reignited when Deji made his diss track that was thought to be deleted, public once again on YouTube.
On the 25 May 2019, he uploaded a serious video, explaining on why he made his diss track public again, and talking about suffering with the psychical abuse from his brother and suicidal thoughts as a result of the latest drama situation.[3] He also called JJ out for forgetting their Mum's birthday.
On 30 May 2019, he made a follow up video called "he's gone too far", where Deji once again called out his brother for trying to find 'dirt' on him for a response video, and threatened his brother with a lawsuit if JJ lied about him.
On 3 June 2019, JJ finally responded to Deji with a video titled "Ending it all". JJ disputed and confuted all of Deji's claims about him and showed Deji's manipulation and hypocrisy. In the same video, he also apologized to Deji about past videos involving violence and for sleeping with the girl that Deji had liked, stating that he didn't know her. The video triggered another huge subscriber loss to Deji while JJ began to regain his subscriber loss. The next day, Deji uploaded a video titled "moving on", where he stated that the drama was "over" and that he would keep things private with his brother from that point onwards.
However on 18 June 2019, Deji uploaded a video titled "i can't do this anymore", where he came forward and voiced how he was suffering from mental health problems and called JJ out for lying about the woman he slept with. He later had a breakdown and begged people to stop seeing him as a "bad guy". The next day Deji went live on Twitch and told his viewers that he finally agreed to attend therapy with his brother and said he would take some time off the internet to focus on getting better mentally. It appeared that the drama was over after Deji voiced support for his brother in the boxing rematch against Logan Paul.
From that point, there were random, subtle digs at each other in both of their videos. When Deji released his video reacting to JJ reacting to 'Unforgivable', he was subject to a lot of hate and lost around 80,000 subscribers, dropping his sub count from 10,000,000 to 9.92 million.
On 13 May 2020, JJ stated in the Mom's Basement Podcast that there was just no clarity about the issues between him and Deji. JJ said he went to their parents' home but him and Deji did not say one word to each other the whole time.
On December 13, 2020, Deji uploaded a heartfelt video to his main channel titled "It's Time To Open Up," which was sponsored by the Movember Foundation, an organization dedicated to encouraging men to speak openly about their mental health struggles. In this deeply personal video, Deji reflects on the entire feud with his brother, JJ, revealing the emotional toll it took on him. He candidly discusses how he has always felt overshadowed by JJ's success, which fueled his feelings of inadequacy and frustration. Deji admits that these emotions led him to behave erratically, repeatedly going back and forth between criticizing JJ and publicly expressing a desire to move on. This internal conflict was also why he kept fluctuating between making his diss track on JJ public and then private again.
During the video, Deji breaks down in tears, apologizing sincerely to JJ for his actions throughout their feud. He expresses deep regret for the pain he caused his brother and promises that he will never turn his back on him again. However, despite the video's emotional sincerity, Deji faced backlash for it being a sponsored video, even though the sponsorship was for a charitable cause. Critics felt that the inclusion of a sponsor, even one as well-intentioned as the Movember Foundation, detracted from the authenticity of his apology, leading to mixed reactions from his audience. While the video also touches on other topics, including the impact of COVID-19 and the hate he has received, the main focus is on Deji’s remorse and his desire to mend his relationship with JJ.
10 Million Subscribers and the eventual 3 Diamond Play Buttons[]
This isn’t just my achievement, this is our achievement.
Deji.
On August 8, 2020, JJ has made a Reddit video called "What is my bro doing?", he ended up countering a Reddit post of him achieving 10 million subs with jokingly involving Deji into this with a crying cat thumbs up-ing in the image when in reality, he was still stuck at 9.6 million subs. JJ has then decided that he has had enough and convinced his viewers to subscribe to Deji to get him on 10 million without any drama or beef involved. Deji would achieve that in less than 7-11 minutes when the video was up.
The next day on August 9, 2020, Deji has uploaded a milestone video for the achievement that he has gathered by getting himself 10 million subs, called "WE DID IT", thanking his brother for doing this for him and thanking everyone for subscribing.
It would take him about a month and a half as in September 26, 2020, he has uploaded a video called "FINALLY GOT THE DIAMOND PLAY BUTTON!!!!!!!" and recieved his first ever Diamond Play Button with "Deji" written on it, an achievement that he wanted to gather, but was stated that It wasn't his achievement, but also his viewers' achievement aswell.
On October 13, 2020, Deji made a video called "I Got Another Diamond Play Button?. As the title suggests, he would recieve 2 Diamond Play Buttons supposedly out of nowhere as a surprise from YouTube, one with "ComedyShortsGamer" on it and one that has "Deji and ComedyShortsGamer" as a trophy like diamond button, making him own 3 Diamond Play Buttons now.
Tank situation[]
On December 17, 2019, Deji announced his dog, Tank, was going to be put down for biting an elderly neighbor that took place back in July 23, 2018. Deji was fined, while his mother was ordered to pay the victims compensation. After Tank was seized by the police, the court said she did not feel able to take the dog off a lead. She said while most dogs accept a muzzle, she found Tank "was very frightened with the attempts to muzzle him". As well as ordering the destruction of the dog, Deji's mother had to pay £8,000 of compensation to the victim. He also gave her a 12-month community order and 80 hours unpaid work. Deji was fined £2,500, while both were also ordered to pay kennelling costs and given a restraining order from contacting the victims for four years. The Olatunji family had 28 days from Friday to appeal against the decision to destroy the dog.
Cars[]
Deji has had an interesting history with cars. Since 2014, he has owned 6 cars:
- 2014 Audi TT S-Line (2014 - 2016)
- 2015 Porsche 911 Carrera S (2015 - present)
- 2016 Range Rover Autobiography (2016 - present)
- 2016 Lamborghini Huracan (2016 - 2017)
- 2017 Lamborghini Aventador S (2017 - present)
- 2018 Mini Clubman (2018 - present)
On September 3, 2016, Deji got into a car accident with his Audi TT, in which he nearly died, along with an old friend of his. He made a video after it had happened, as well as showing the aftermath of the car. He has since replaced it with a Range Rover Autobiography for daily driving.
The Porsche is said to mainly be owned and driven by his mum, as indicated by the number plate 'Y1NKE'. The Range Rover is their family car, shared between the members of the house.
Deji got his grey 2016 Lamborghini Huracan wrapped by Yiannimize in a satin gold colour, with white tron lines. But in 2017, his car was vandalised with scratches and paint, and so he got it unwrapped and sold it.
Soon after selling his Huracan, Deji purchased a yellow 2017 Lamborghini Aventador S. Speculations claim he has sold his Aventador S after searches of his registration number show no record.
In 2018, Deji bought his dad a 2010 Land Rover Defender, his dad's dream car. He had also bought himself a smaller Mini Clubman for himself to daily drive, as his parents use the Range Rover too.
In December of 2019, Deji's Range Rover broke down in the middle of the road, and his girlfriend was involved.
